Tonya is a deeply compassionate mentor and holistic practitioner out of Portland, Oregon, who has spent the last two decades walking the path of healing, both personally and professionally. As a Christian and a trauma survivor, her work is rooted in faith, shaped by experience, and guided by the belief that healing is not only possible but sacred.
Tonya’s journey began in 2005 as a certified personal trainer, where she quickly discovered her passion for supporting clients beyond just physical fitness. She specialized in Post-Rehabilitation Injury Care and Holistic Wellness, which paved the way for a more integrative approach to wellness. As clients began to bring not just physical pain, but emotional and spiritual wounds into her sessions, Tonya’s calling deepened.
Over the years, she expanded her training to meet those needs, earning certifications as a Holistic Life Coach, Art Therapy Practitioner, Sound Therapy Practitioner, Neuroscience Coach, ADHD Coach, and Mending The Heart Facilitator, and is trained in Story-Informed Trauma Therapy as a Mentor. Alongside her formal education, Tonya has spent years studying the impact of trauma, somatic practices, neurobiology, and the intricate ways life affects the body, mind, and soul.
Through Expressive Echoes Studio, Tonya offers a holistic trauma-informed approach that blends art and sound practices with body-based wisdom, trauma mentorship, and spiritual reflection. Her approach is creative, intuitive, and deeply honoring of each individual’s unique story. Clients find in her not only a skilled guide but also a safe and empathetic presence who understands the terrain of trauma because she has walked it herself.
